Etsy Seller Score

Enter your numbers and get a 0–100 grade for your Etsy shop — with a transparent breakdown across five sub-scores, clear next steps, and a look at how Offsite Ads affects your take rate. It runs entirely in your browser.

Your numbers

The country of your Etsy Payments bank account — it sets your payment processing fee.

Etsy Ads (optional)

Etsy Ads and sales-trend fields are optional — leave them blank and their weight is redistributed, not counted against you.

Your overall Etsy Seller Score, weighted across the five sub-scores below.
Profitability /100 ·

Net profit margin after item cost and all Etsy fees.

Your margin is thin once costs and Etsy fees come out. Sharper listings — photos, titles, tags — lift conversion so each sale earns more.

Decent margin with room to grow — small listing and pricing gains compound.

Strong margin — your unit economics are healthy.

Fee efficiency /100 ·

Etsy's take rate — fees as a share of your item price. Lower is better.

Etsy is taking a large share of each sale — often Offsite Ads. Ranking organically reduces how much you depend on paid placements.

Fees are reasonable; better organic visibility keeps your take rate down.

Lean fees — Etsy's cut is well controlled.

Ad efficiency /100 ·

Your Etsy Ads ACOS versus break-even ACOS. Below break-even means ads make money.

Your Etsy Ads are at or above break-even, so spend is eating into margin. Tighter listings and keywords improve return.

Etsy Ads are profitable but not efficient yet — there's headroom to lower ACOS.

Efficient Etsy Ads — comfortably below break-even.

Pricing headroom /100 ·

How far your price sits above the break-even price.

Very little room above break-even — a cost or fee bump could push you into the red. Knowing where you sit versus similar shops helps.

Some pricing headroom; keep an eye on comparable listings so you can hold price.

Healthy pricing headroom above break-even.

Sales velocity /100 ·

Your recent sales trend. Optional — add a % to include it.

Sales are trending down. Checking demand and trends for your niche helps you react before it compounds.

Sales are flat to slightly up — steady, with room to accelerate.

Sales are growing nicely.

How this is scored: each sub-score is 0–100 from your inputs, then weighted into the total. The weights and thresholds are a tunable heuristic for orientation — not an official Etsy metric or an industry standard. Treat the score as a directional guide, not a verdict.

What the Etsy Seller Score measures

The Etsy Seller Score turns the numbers you already track into a single 0–100 grade for your shop, so you can see where you stand and what to fix first. It is a self-assessment: you enter your figures, everything is calculated in your browser, and nothing is stored or sent to a server.

The score combines five sub-metrics — profitability (net margin), fee efficiency (Etsy's take rate), ad efficiency (Etsy Ads ACOS versus break-even), pricing headroom and sales velocity. The biggest hidden driver on Etsy is Offsite Ads: a 12–15% fee on sales attributed to Etsy's external ads that you cannot opt out of once your trailing 12-month sales pass $10k. When you switch it on, watch the fee-efficiency sub-score — it shows exactly how much it eats your margin, which is why ranking organically matters.

The weights and thresholds are a transparent heuristic for orientation, not an official Etsy benchmark — they can be tuned. Use the score to spot your weakest area, follow the guidance, make a change, and re-grade. Optional fields like Etsy Ads and sales trend drop out of the calculation when left blank, so a partial picture still gives a fair score.
