We bought the Looxii Retractable Stair Gate primarily to keep our toddler from accessing dangerous areas, and it works adequately in that role. The setup was fairly simple, and the retractable design is a space-saver. It does, however, have some flex, which makes it less than ideal for high-risk areas like the top of stairs.

It’s been effective in low-risk areas and also works well to keep our dog out of rooms we’d rather keep pet-free.

Our spaniel is notorious for squeezing through gaps, but not with the Looxii Retractable Stair Gate. It was easy to install, even for someone not particularly handy like me. I mounted it in a hallway, and it's been effective in keeping our dog restricted from certain areas. The gate retracts quietly and locks securely, making it hassle-free to operate.
