Easy to install: Firstly put two top beam in both ends of swing middle bracket; Secondly simply slide the 4x4 legs into the brackets with the beam lying on the ground (top down); Thirdly Pre-drill the holes for the lag screws and ratchet them down.(Note: a 2x4 cross piece could be added on the legs for stability.
As for Lumber Size---We recommend using Two kiln-dried 4x6" top beam (with a true measurement of 3-1/2" x 5-1/2") and Two kiln-dried 4x4" (with true measurements of 3-1/2" x 3-1/2") side support legs to construct a basic A-Frame.(Lumber is not included in this kit.)
About rust and decay: both inside and outside all painted well to against them and keep good looking.
