After trying several supposed waterproof blankets that failed, I decided to test this Ameritex Pet Bed Blanket myself. I poured 1/2 cup of warm water on it, and the water pooled effectively without soaking through. While it doesn't hold water well on uneven surfaces, it still prevented any liquid from passing through. I layered this blanket on my sofa, topped with another non-waterproof blanket for double protection.

Apart from functionality, it’s incredibly soft and cuddly. Despite the minor pooling issue, it's a top-quality product and performs as advertised.

The short pile fabric is a great choice over thicker shearling types that trap hair. The blanket’s size allows for easy tucking at the headboard, keeping it in place.
