I ordered the Muddy Mat AS-SEEN-ON-TV for my kitchen and it's pretty effective in catching dry dirt. Since its arrival, it hasn't rained, so I can't comment on its absorbency for wet dirt. However, shaking it outside did show that it catches a lot of debris. The mat is quite thick, and if your door opens inward, make sure there’s enough clearance.

The non-slip backing is also a good addition, keeping the mat in place. Satisfied with it so far.
