I drink a lot of coffee, and use a deLonghi Magnifica espresso machine (wonderful, by the way). I always use beans, and prefer to drink it black and savour the flavour. By comparison with other reputable brands, Spiller's coffee is really good.

The beans themselves have a consistent size and colour. I could find no "bad beans" and they look as one would expect. The aroma is also enjoyable.

I can't comment on the caffeine strength, because I'm not very sensitive to it's impact. From the cup, the flavour is more mild than strong, with no bitterness or unpleasant elements. Overall, a very enjoyable drink.

I will happily drink this coffee on a regular basis. There are some other factors to consider. Beans are not always stocked in the supermarkets.

Delivery was very prompt (I'm in a rural location). Packaging for the post was appropriate. At this price, it is excellent value for money.

These coffee beans were a solid bean, good flavour but went sour by the end of the bag. These aren't that much different from a supermarket brand and this comes down to the roasted date, you have no idea when these were roasted. My suggestion if you can, is to find a coffee supplier that shows you the roasted date of the beans and buy in smaller batches.

1Kg goes sour quickly unless you are drinking 20 cups a day.

I like Spiller's coffee a lot. Tried several different coffee beans when we first had our bean to cup coffee machine several years ago, and this is by far the best. It's so good we have it on a regular order every couple of months.

Taste is beautifully smooth and mellow and very drinkable at any time of the day. If you have a similar type machine, you might have to adjust the controls to get the smoothness you like. For me, it's the best around.

This is an honest review, I have no links to this company and have not been paid for it. Unfortunately, on my most recent order (I have this every 2 months) - Dec 21, the roast wasn't quite the usual quality. It's a little bitter and I didn't like the taste as much, hopefully this is a one-off as normally it is really smooth.

I looked to try to give the seller more direct feedback but was unable to.
