Benevolence LA was founded on the idea that a generous life is a good life. Benevolence means, literally, a desire to do good. Our brand mission is to cultivate generosity. As Winston Churchill said, "We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” We started Benevolence LA in late 2015.  It was a time when we weren’t feeling particularly generous. In fact, the pressures of life had really begun to wrap themselves around us in a way that we simply didn’t have much left to give. M... In fact, the pressures of life had really begun to wrap themselves around us in a way that we simply didn’t have much left to give. Maybe you resonate with this struggle. And maybe, like us, you wish there was a way to live a more generous life without adding more items to your agenda or stretch your money ever further. We’re passionate about helping to solve this problem. Our light bulb moment was when we realized that we needed to tie generosity to something we were already doing -- gift giving. We realized that if we connected charity to gift giving that we not only instantly became more generous, we discovered that our gifts also had more meaning and purpose.  Win win. Whether you are looking for a gift for a loved one or giving yourself something special, every product we make has a story and gives back. The next step was to design and create incredible products. We are our first customers. If we don’t get super excited about giving our products as gifts, we don’t sell them to you. We live in Los Angeles. A city that most consider the cultural center of the world. It gives us a unique perspective on fashion, trends, celebrity, and helps us curate great pieces that are ahead of the curve. Next we found charity partners to help us on the ground as we try to make a difference in the world.  We do believe generosity in and of itself is powerful and life giving, but we are also determined to make tangible change in our world. Through our first charity partner, Hands 4 Others, we have already built 4 clean water systems in Kenya and Uganda.  And this is just the beginning.
